This side table is hand folded from a CNC punched sheet steel net. This process allows for ease in manufacture eliminating the need for any additional tooling or fixings. In order for the side table to work it was crucial to use the perforation detail as a way to create structure within the design. To hold the piece together I used tabs that came through the metal and folded down, this eliminated the need for any further joints or fixings. The form of the table is also defined by it’s function.
